Kick-Off Meeting in Giessen (30.05 – 03.06.2024)
From May 30th to June 3rd, 2024, the kick-off meeting for our project, “Integrating Innovation into Geographical Education and Research for SDG Achievement in Libya,” was held at Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen (JLU Giessen). The event marked the official launch of this collaborative initiative, bringing together participants from JLU Giessen, 14 representatives from our Libyan partner universities (University of Sabratha, University of Zawia, University of Benghazi, and University of Tripoli), and students.
Highlights of the Kick-Off Meeting
- Project Presentation: We introduced the project’s goals, objectives, and expected outcomes, ensuring a common understanding among all participants.
- Roles and Responsibilities: Clear roles were defined for each participant to facilitate effective collaboration and coordination throughout the project.
- SDG Integration: We emphasized the importance of Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDGs 6, 11, and 13, and how our project activities align with these global objectives.
- Strategic Planning: The meeting provided a platform for strategic planning, setting the stage for future workshops, seminars, and field research activities.
- Collaboration Foundations: Strengthened relationships and established a framework for ongoing academic and scientific collaboration between JLU Giessen and Libyan universities.
