The steering committee digital meeting took place on February 21, 2024, with 10 participants from four Libyan partner universities: the University of Tripoli, the University of Benghazi, the University of Zawia, and the University of Sabratha, along with project members from Justus Liebig University (JLU) Giessen.

This meeting aimed to discuss the project outline, review its objectives, and align the project’s roadmap with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Key discussions during the meeting included the strategic alignment of the project with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly emphasizing SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 13 (Climate Action). The committee worked on refining the project phases, which focus on knowledge exchange, practical field research in Libya, and curriculum development.

The steering committee also laid the groundwork for upcoming activities, including capacity-building workshops and the development of a platform for experience sharing and collaboration. The meeting concluded with a plan to further engage participants through digital meetings and workshops to ensure the successful implementation of the project’s goals.
